MONTHLIV NOTE
Monthlive Rooftop Lounge Hosts Seoul Venture Forum's April Monthly Meetup
The Seoul Venture Forum's April 2026 monthly meetup was held on Wednesday, April 22, at Monthlive Rooftop Lounge, located in Euljiro — a historic business and manufacturing district at the heart of Seoul. Organized under the theme "DAO and the Future of Community," the gathering brought together participants to discuss the evolution of Korea's startup ecosystem and how communities are formed and contribute to society in the age of AI.
Founded in 2022, the Seoul Venture Forum is one of Korea's leading startup communities, dedicated to fostering the healthy growth of the nation's startup ecosystem. Each month, it brings together industry leaders, founders, and investors for in-depth discussions and networking.
The event was structured in four parts. Part 1 featured investor pitches from two early-stage Korean startups, Vision Inventory and Ttukddak Home Master, presented by CEO Hyejeong Kim and CEO Jaehyuk Jang. In Part 2, Jaesun Han — former CEO of GroundX, the blockchain subsidiary of Kakao (one of Korea's largest tech companies) — delivered a keynote on "DAO and the Future of Community." Part 3 featured Inchang Song, CEO of Rain Korea, with a talk titled "Father José María, Founder of Mondragon University — On the Greatness of One Person Who Changed a Region," reflecting on the legacy of the priest who established the cooperative-based university in Spain's Basque region. The event closed with Part 4, a panel discussion moderated by Professor Juyeol Lee of Seoul Venture Graduate University, who also serves as Director of the Team Entrepreneurship Center at Mondragon University's Seoul Lab. The panel explored the question, "In the Age of AI, How Are Communities Built, How Do They Grow, and How Do They Contribute to the World?"
Monthlive Rooftop Lounge, the venue for the event, is an urban rooftop rental space located on the 6th floor of Monthlive Euljiro Hostel at 177 Euljiro, Jung-gu, Seoul. The venue is directly accessible on foot from Exit 1 of Euljiro 4-ga Station on the Seoul Metro, and sits within walking distance of Seoul's major downtown districts — including Jongno (the city's traditional civic center), Myeongdong (a leading commercial and tourist hub), and Chungmuro (long known as the center of Korea's film industry) — making it an ideal location for business events in the heart of the capital. Its open rooftop layout is designed to seamlessly accommodate presentations, lectures, and open networking within a single space, and it proved to be a reliable setting for a multi-part, long-format program like the Seoul Venture Forum.
With this event, Monthlive Rooftop Lounge has added another reference to its portfolio as a central Seoul venue suited for a wide range of business and community events, including forums, seminars, and networking gatherings. Monthlive will continue to expand its operations by repurposing underutilized urban spaces across the city, delivering integrated experiences that connect lodging, extended stays, community, and events.
